Michelle Dodge began dancing on 1991 in Southern California at the Black Angus, aka the “Square Cow Fun Bar”. Her instructors were going on vacation and asked Michelle to teach the class for them while they were gone. She continued to sub as needed.
She started competing in line dance at another local bar and won several local line dance competitions. She was then sent to nationals in Anaheim, where she placed 2nd. She continued to dance and teach until she moved to Oregon. After a few years’ hiatus, she started dancing again. When Bushwhackers in Tualatin needed a sub in 2000, Michelle stepped in and has been teaching there ever since.
She choreographed the dance routines for the models at the Portland Bridal Show for five years. She has taught and participated in different dance events over the years in both line and couples.
Her favorite part of teaching is when someone “gets it” and has a great big smile on their face
